PADI Divemaster Course in Hurghada

The first professional PADI rating: assist instructors, lead certified divers, and build the real-world experience needed to work in the dive industry. Delivered over 10–12 days at a PADI 5-star IDC center with 25+ years training divers in the Red Sea. Prerequisites: PADI Rescue Diver, EFR within 24 months, medical clearance, and 40+ logged dives (60 to certify).

More About This Trip

Divemaster is where diving stops being a hobby and becomes a profession. As the first rating on the PADI professional ladder, it qualifies you to work in the dive industry worldwide: guiding certified divers, assisting instructors with students, supervising dive activities and conducting certain programmes independently. This course delivers the full programme over an intensive 10-12 days of real working experience on Red Sea dive boats.

The training has three strands that run in parallel. Dive theory takes your knowledge to instructor-track depth — physics, physiology, decompression theory, equipment and the recreational dive planner, with exams in each area. Waterskills develop your personal capability through timed swims, a rescue assessment and a demonstration-quality performance of the core skill circuit. And the practical strand is the heart of it: mapping a dive site, briefing and leading certified divers, assisting real courses with real students under instructor supervision, and learning boat and dive-deck logistics from the inside.

Prerequisites: minimum age 18, PADI Rescue Diver (or equivalent), EFR primary and secondary care within 24 months, a physician-signed dive medical dated within the last year, and at least 40 logged dives to start — you will need 60 to certify, and the course itself takes you well past that. The fee includes tuition, the required PADI materials and application fees, daily lunches and drinks on board, and transfers within Hurghada; personal equipment (rentable at €15 per day), marine park fees and accommodation are excluded. Graduates leave with the certification, a packed logbook and genuine working experience on a professional dive deck — the exact foundation the Assistant Instructor and Instructor Development Course build on.

Dive Safe Package — medical care is on us

Diving with us includes medical care from licensed physicians — before your dive, on the day, and after your trip has ended. If anything comes up once you are back at your hotel, you are still ours to look after: call us and we arrange the doctor, at no extra cost.

A dive medical fitness check before you get in the water is entirely up to you. Some divers simply like the reassurance — say the word and we arrange it with a licensed physician at no extra cost, whenever suits you. And if the physician advises against diving, we refund your booking in full.

PADI Divemaster Course — questions divers ask

How much does this trip cost?
It costs €940 per person.
What is included in the price?
PADI instructor & course materials; PADI manual, sticker & application fees; Lunch, coffee, tea, water & soft drinks on board; Free hotel transfer from/to all hotels within Hurghada.
What is the minimum age?
Divers must be at least 18 years old.
Do I need a diving certification?
No — this is a certification course, and no previous experience is required for entry-level courses. A PADI instructor guides you through every step.
Is hotel pickup included?
Yes — free transfer to and from all hotels within Hurghada. Hotels in Makadi Bay, Sahl Hasheesh and El Gouna have a small transfer surcharge.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 48 hours before your trip date.
How many days does this course take?
12 days. Sessions run in the morning and you are free every afternoon, so the course fits comfortably inside a normal holiday week.
When is the best time to dive in Hurghada?
All year round — the Red Sea has no closed season. Water runs from about 22°C in February to 30°C in August, and March–May and September–November bring the most comfortable mix of warm water, light wind and good visibility. Winter diving is excellent too; you simply want a thicker wetsuit.
Are there any extra costs?
Everything in the price is listed on this page, and so is everything that is not. Payable locally: Dive equipment rental (€15/day); Marine park entrance fee (€5 per person per day, for the whole course); Hotel transfer for Makadi Bay, Sahl Hasheesh & El Gouna: €20 per day per car; Accommodation. When you compare with another centre, check whether their price includes the certification — many quote the course alone and add the manual and certification separately.
