If you have never dived, start with Discover Scuba Diving — one supervised dive, no commitment. If you know you want the licence, go straight to PADI Open Water Diver: it certifies you to dive to 18 metres with a buddy, anywhere in the world, and it does not expire. Already certified? Advanced Open Water is the usual next step, then Rescue Diver, then the specialties.

Each course page states its own duration in days — Open Water is the longest of the entry-level courses, the specialties are the shortest. The certification fee, the manuals, the instructor and all equipment are inside the price shown; nothing is added at the end.

All year round — the Red Sea has no closed season. Water runs from about 22°C in February to 30°C in August, and March–May and September–November bring the most comfortable mix of warm water, light wind and good visibility. Winter is excellent too; you simply want a thicker wetsuit.
