Open-sea reef, can be rough in wind — best dived as a full day out

A sprawling reef system roughly 90 minutes from Hurghada, large enough that local guides usually treat it as a full-day destination rather than a single stop. Its three main sections dive very differently: a drift past big table corals to the north, a compact reef small enough to circle in one dive to the east, and a pinnacle-to-pinnacle tour over a sandy floor to the south.

Best time to dive here

Divable all year — the Red Sea has no closed season. Water runs from about 22°C in February to 30°C in August, and March–May and September–November give the most comfortable mix of warm water, light wind and good visibility.
