Red Sea Liveaboard Safari — Built Around Your Group
Liveaboard in Hurghada
Seven nights on board, three to four dives a day, and reefs no day boat from Hurghada can reach. You tell us your dates, your group and how experienced you are; we come back with the boats that are free that week and what each one costs.
More About This Trip
A liveaboard is the only way to dive the sites that sit too far offshore for a day boat. You sleep on the water, wake up already on the reef, and dive three to four times a day for a week — including night dives, which a day boat can almost never offer.
TWO ROUTES, AND HOW TO CHOOSE
Northern Wrecks & Reefs — out of Hurghada and back. The SS Thistlegorm at Shaab Ali, the four wrecks stacked on Abu Nuhas — Giannis D, Carnatic, and the tile and lentil wrecks — the hard coral garden at Shaab El Erg, and Shark Reef at Ras Mohammed where the wall falls straight into the blue. Operators normally ask for Advanced Open Water and around 30 logged dives.
Brothers, Daedalus & Elphinstone — the offshore marine parks, and the harder week. Big and Small Brother rise out of deep water with the wrecks of the Numidia and the Aida lying on their walls. Daedalus and Elphinstone are exposed pinnacles in open sea, which is exactly why hammerheads, oceanic whitetips and the occasional thresher pass through them. The diving is genuinely demanding: real current, negative entries, and getting in and out of a Zodiac in swell. Boats ask for 30 to 50 logged dives and a decent level of fitness.
WHAT A WEEK LOOKS LIKE
Seven nights on board, around five and a half days of diving, and up to sixteen to twenty dives depending on the boat and the route. The first is a check dive near the departure port; after that it is three to four dives a day, dropping to two on the final day so you finish well clear of your flight home.
WHEN TO GO
The northern wrecks dive well all year. The offshore routes run when the weather allows, and the shark season on Brothers and Daedalus is at its strongest from late spring through autumn.
WHY THERE IS NO PRICE ON THIS PAGE
A liveaboard price moves with the boat, the cabin, the week and the size of your group — the same route can differ by several hundred dollars between two departures a fortnight apart. Publishing one number would mean publishing a number that is wrong for almost everyone reading it. Send us the dates and the group instead and you get real availability and a real quote.
WHAT TO BRING
Your certification card and logbook — the boat will ask for both. Your own regulator and dive computer if you own them, a wetsuit suited to the season, seasickness tablets for the crossings, and reef-safe sunscreen.

Dive Safe Package — medical care is on us
Diving with us includes medical care from licensed physicians — before your dive, on the day, and after your trip has ended. If anything comes up once you are back at your hotel, you are still ours to look after: call us and we arrange the doctor, at no extra cost.
A dive medical fitness check before you get in the water is entirely up to you. Some divers simply like the reassurance — say the word and we arrange it with a licensed physician at no extra cost, whenever suits you. And if the physician advises against diving, we refund your booking in full.

Reefs this trip may visit. The captain chooses each day's sites by wind, current and conditions on the morning — so treat this as the area, not a schedule.
