Red Sea Diving, Booked the Way Divers Want It

Egypt X Diving is a Red Sea diving and excursion platform built in Egypt for divers visiting Egypt. Who We Are

Egypt X Diving is based on Egypt's Red Sea coast, and the platform is built around local knowledge of it — the reefs, walls, pinnacles and wrecks around Hurghada, the Giftun Islands, Abu Ramada, Umm Gamar and the Marsa Alam coast. That is why you will find genuine dive-site guides here, with depth, current, difficulty and marine life for each site, and not just a list of tour titles.

We work as a booking platform. We publish the trips, the prices and the site briefings, take your booking securely online, and the dive centre named on your voucher runs the day on the water. Every operator is licensed in Egypt, works to PADI standards, and is checked by us before their trips appear on the site.

The whole site runs in six languages — English, Arabic, German, Russian, French and Italian — and shows prices in your own currency. A diver comparing a two-tank dive in Hurghada should not have to fight a translation tool and a currency calculator first.

Where We Dive

Two of the Red Sea's best diving bases — and dozens of sites between them.

Hurghada

Our home port. An hour or less from El Fanadir, Fanous, the Giftun Islands, Abu Ramada, Umm Gamar, Carless Reef and the El Minya wreck. Sheltered training bays sit beside current-swept pinnacles and 100-metre drop-offs, which makes Hurghada equally good for a first Open Water dive and for a hard week of deep diving.

Marsa Alam

Further south, Marsa Alam trades crowds for wilder terrain: pristine hard-coral gardens, house reefs you can dive from shore, seagrass bays with turtles and dugongs, and access to the offshore reefs of the deep south. It suits divers who want longer boat days and quieter moorings.

Why Divers Book Through Us

The things we would want as customers ourselves.

Licensed, vetted operators

Every dive centre and boat on the platform is licensed in Egypt and works to PADI standards. We check the paperwork before a trip is listed — you are never booking through an anonymous middleman.

Honest, all-in prices

The price you see covers exactly what the trip description says it covers. No commission stacked on at the hotel desk, no surprise fee on the jetty.

Instant confirmation

Book in about two minutes without creating an account. Your confirmation, invoice and QR voucher arrive by email — and on WhatsApp when you leave us your number.

Free cancellation

Cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before departure. If the operator or the weather authority cancels, you choose between a full refund and a free reschedule.

Real dive briefings

Depth, current, difficulty and marine life for every site we sell — published on an interactive map before you pay, so you can tell whether a site suits your level.

Verified reviews only

Reviews come from completed bookings whose voucher was scanned by the operator on the day. Nobody can review a trip they never dived.

Safety & Standards

Diving is safe when it is run properly, and the boring parts are what keep it that way. What we insist on:

  • PADI-standard briefings, buddy checks and sensible guide-to-diver ratios on every guided dive.
  • Serviced regulators, in-test tanks and oxygen on board — operator equipment is part of what we check.
  • An honest medical declaration and a certification check before advanced or deep dives. No diving after alcohol, ever.
  • When the coastguard closes the sea, the trip is cancelled and you are refunded or rebooked. We do not sail a marginal day to save a booking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a diving licence to book?

Not for snorkelling, Dolphin House, glass-bottom boat or safari trips — those are open to everyone. For guided scuba dives you need at least an Open Water certification or equivalent. If you have never dived before, book a try-dive or a PADI course and the instructor starts you from zero.

Which is better for diving, Hurghada or Marsa Alam?

Hurghada has shorter boat rides, far more choice of day trips and calmer training conditions, so it wins for beginners and short stays. Marsa Alam has healthier coral, easy shore diving and better odds of turtles and dugongs, so it wins for experienced divers with a full week.

When is the best time to dive the Red Sea?

You can dive Hurghada and Marsa Alam all year round. March–May and September–November give the most comfortable mix of warm water (roughly 24–28 °C), calm seas and thinner crowds. Summer is hottest with the warmest water; winter is quieter and windier and calls for a thicker wetsuit.

How do I pay, and in which currency?

By card online through our payment provider, with prices displayed in your chosen currency. Your full card number never touches our servers — we only receive the payment confirmation and a transaction reference.

What happens after I book?

You immediately get a booking reference, an invoice and a QR voucher. You can then add your dive profile — equipment sizes, certification number, hotel pickup, dietary and medical notes — and on the day the operator scans your voucher to confirm the service.

Can you arrange a trip that is not listed?

Yes. Send us what you have in mind through the custom trip request form or on WhatsApp. Private boats, multi-day dive packages and group or family combinations are arranged directly with the operators.
