A lot of searches land on this site looking for a specific specialty "in Hurghada" — deep, wreck, buoyancy, nitrox, night, sidemount. Here is the honest map of where each one actually runs today, so you are not disappointed after booking a hotel.
What runs in Hurghada right now
- Discover Scuba Diving — from EUR 59
- Open Water Diver — from EUR 326
- Advanced Open Water — from EUR 243
- Rescue Diver — from EUR 340
- Divemaster — from EUR 972
- Guided wreck and reef diving days — from EUR 44
That is the core ladder plus wreck days. It covers the large majority of divers.
What currently runs in Marsa Alam instead
- Peak Performance Buoyancy — from EUR 143
- Enriched Air (Nitrox) — from EUR 126
- Deep Diver — from EUR 243

- Night Diver — from EUR 166
- Sidemount Diver — from EUR 282
- Digital Underwater Photography — from EUR 143
- Scuba Diver (half certification), EFR, Bubblemaker, Seal Team
The Advanced Open Water card already gives you a taste of deep, wreck, buoyancy and navigation as adventure dives without a separate certification — see Advanced Open Water in Hurghada if a full specialty is more than you need this trip.
Why the split?
It comes down to which of our partner centres run which programme, not depth or difficulty — Hurghada's reefs and wrecks are entirely capable of hosting a Deep or Night specialty, and the split may well change as the catalogue grows. What will not change is that we tell you honestly where a course runs before you book flights, rather than after.
Can I do the Hurghada course and the Marsa Alam specialty on the same trip?
Only if your itinerary includes both bases — they are roughly a 3 to 4 hour transfer apart. Most one-base holidaymakers pick the ladder course that matches their base (Open Water or Advanced in Hurghada) and treat the specialties as a reason to add a Marsa Alam leg, or save them for a future trip based there. If you are planning a two-base holiday, tell us through the trip request form and we can help you sequence it.
Book the right base
Check the trip page for your course before you commit to a hotel — Hurghada trips and Marsa Alam trips list everything currently bookable in each. Every course listing states its base clearly, and this page exists so you never find that out after landing.
