Dive packages in Hurghada run from two days to ten. The right number depends less on budget than on what you want to reach — and on one scheduling rule that surprises a lot of first-time visitors.
How does the per-dive price change?
It falls steadily. Booking single days is the most expensive way to dive here; each day you add to a package lowers the cost of every dive in it. The 10-day / 20-dive package carries the lowest per-dive price we offer.
The practical rule: if you intend to dive more than twice, a package is cheaper than the equivalent days.
2 days / 4 dives — the taster
Right for a short trip, or for divers who have not been in the water for a while and want to re-establish comfort before committing. Two days covers the house reefs and one of the closer offshore sites.
3–4 days — the sweet spot for a one-week holiday
This is what most of our guests book on a seven-night trip. It leaves rest days, room for a desert day or a snorkelling trip with non-diving family, and — critically — a clear final day before flying.
3 days / 6 dives · 4 days / 8 dives
5–7 days — reaching the sites that need a full day
From five days you can spend a whole day going somewhere serious — Abu Nuhas with its four wrecks, or the northern reefs — instead of only the sites within an hour of the marina. This is also the point where your diving visibly improves: buoyancy settles, air consumption drops, and you start noticing the reef instead of managing yourself.
5 days / 10 dives · 6 days / 12 dives · 7 days / 14 dives
8–10 days — for divers, not holidaymakers who dive
Ten days of diving is a dedicated dive trip. It also makes a specialty course essentially free in time terms — you are on the boat anyway, so adding Nitrox or Wreck costs days you were spending regardless.
8 days / 16 dives · 9 days / 18 dives · 10 days / 20 dives
What is the rule about flying after diving?
This is the one that catches people out. You must not fly for 18 to 24 hours after your last dive — the standard guidance is 18 hours after multiple dives, and most divers leave 24 to be safe.
So on a seven-night trip with a morning flight home, your last diving day is day five, not day six. Size the package accordingly, or you will pay for a day you cannot use.
Can you combine a package with a course?
Yes, and it is often the best value. A common pattern: three days of Open Water certification followed by a short package to use the new licence before flying home. Or Advanced Open Water in two days at the start of a longer package, so the rest of the week opens up to 30 metres.
What if your plans are not fixed yet?
Packages are per person and the dives inside them are flexible across your stay — weather occasionally moves a day, and having spare days means moving rather than losing it.
Compare all of them on the trips page, or send us your dates and we will size it for you.
