Diving prices in Hurghada are quoted a dozen different ways, which makes comparison hard on purpose. This page lists what things actually cost in 2026, what is inside the price, and which extras appear later.
Day trips

- Wreck & reef day — from €44. Same format, one wreck and one reef.
- Discover Scuba Diving — from €59. For uncertified divers; instructor one-to-one in the water.
- Snorkelling boat trip — the cheapest way onto the same reefs.
PADI courses
- Scuba Diver — 2 days, certified to 12m with a professional.
- Open Water Diver — from €326. 3–4 days, the licence for life.
- Advanced Open Water — from €243. 2 days, five adventure dives.
- Rescue Diver — from €340. The course most divers call the best one.
- Divemaster — from €972. The first professional rating.
Specialties — Nitrox, Deep, Wreck, Drift — sit between the day trips and the full courses in price.
Where does the price actually drop?
On multi-day packages. A single two-dive day is the most expensive way to buy diving in Hurghada. The same dives inside a package cost noticeably less each:
- 2 days / 4 dives
- 5 days / 10 dives
- 10 days / 20 dives — the lowest per-dive price we offer
If you know you will dive more than twice, book the package rather than the days.
What is included in the price?
On our trips: boat, tanks and weights, full rental equipment, a guide, lunch and drinks on board, and hotel transfer within Hurghada. Course prices also include the PADI materials and the certification fee.
What costs extra?
Being honest about the additions, because this is where quoted prices diverge:
- Marine park fees — a small daily government charge on boat trips.
- Nitrox — a supplement per tank if you are certified for it.
- Private guiding or one-to-one instruction — see the VIP private course if you want it.
- Underwater photos — optional, never compulsory.
What should not appear at the desk: charges for a wetsuit, a torch on a normal reef dive, or "reef maintenance" fees.
Why are some Hurghada prices so much lower?
Usually one of four reasons: eight or more divers per guide, equipment that is well past retirement, a boat shared with a snorkelling group so dives get cut short, or an unlicensed operation. Prices below about €30 for a two-dive day are difficult to deliver safely once fuel, tanks, insurance and staff are paid.
